Professor of International Law and International Relations, University of Vienna (since 1980). Department of Political Science, Stanford University (1988), former Director of the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (1988 - 1996), former head of the Department of Public International Law (1996-2000), Vice-President of the German Society of International Law (1997-2001); Founding member of the European Society of International Law (ESIL) (2004).
